INDUSTRIAL INTERNET OF THINGS

IIoT - INDUSTRIAL INTERNET OF THINGS

GCS is bringing many years of system integration of industrial control and automation systems to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) merging “Operation” and “Information” technologies.

We are helping our customers design and implement robust and secure IIoT turn-key solutions enabling them to realize the well-known benefits of more real-time data visualization into their manufacturing operations and processes.  The manufacturing industry is moving towards a more proactive instead of reactive approach, providing significant efficiency,

GCS has the expertise to evaluate your current architecture and recommend a strategy to get short term gains with the future in mind.  Along with our world class partners, we can provide the scalability and flexibility to securely give you the window into your operations giving you the ability to compete at a higher level with your existing equipment.

What is the Industrial Internet of Things?

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is really the Industrial Internet of Assets. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is the convergence of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), with the purpose of creating a seamless and secure network between IT systems like ERP, Maintenance, Big Data/Analytics, SCADA/Automation, OEE, and OT systems and devices like , PLC's, RTU's, PAC's and sensors.

The IIoT has enabled many manufacturing companies to break down the traditional barriers between departments, software applications and devices allowing them to acquire vast amounts of data faster and more efficiently than before, allowing the manufacture as a whole to quickly realize efficiency gains and improve their bottom line.

What can IIoT solve?

Data Bottlenecks

Many manufactures experience inefficiencies in the inherent latency of data between device protocols, automation systems and IT applications.  The IIoT has widely adopted a protocol called Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) to solve this issue.  MQTT is a publish and subscribe, bidirectional and lightweight protocol allowing users to move data at a much greater rate than before.  Allowing for applications and equipment to communicate faster providing greater production throughput and real-time visualization.

System Reliability and Security

Using Messaging Middleware along with MQTT offers users the flexibility to use proven technologies already used in traditional IT architectures to secure data and setup redundancy at the plant and server levels.

Enterprise Integration

Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) allows you to separate a device from an application so the data can be shared throughout an enterprise efficiently and allow for the scalability needed for future devices and applications.  The Middleware gives one device (publisher) the ability to communicate with many software applications (subscriber) at the same time.
